Art in our Montessori school classroom is used in a variety of different ways. At the most basic level art will teach the child to use a pencil and draw lines from top to bottom and left to right. Many of the exercises placed on the practical life shelves are artistic in nature. They often include cutting, weaving, sewing, and stencils. Throughout the school year the children are exposed to an assortment of mediums, artists, and styles of art. The children’s art work is show cased in the Curious Child Montessori Omaha School yearly art show for all to see.
